OEOC Green Ambassador Certificate Roadshow

  • Jasper High School 6800 Archgate Drive Plano, TX, 75024 United States (map)

Human-created emissions and pollution, impacts all species. The “Take-Make-Waste” economy is at a tipping point. We are depleting resources faster than they are  replenished. We need to advocate for net zero living through community engagement. We need skills/ innovative thinking/ job training to prepare the workforce for a circular economy. We need to develop stewardship to interact with the planet responsibly and conserve resources.

OEOC is going on a roadshow to drive a new Green Ambassador Certificate program, to address the need for environmental sustainability education in coordination with 4 cities - Addison, McKinney, Frisco, and Coppell and nonprofits (Texas Trees Foundation, Texas Master Naturalists). The format of delivery is hybrid with 12 modules delivered via in-person sessions including interactive exercises and a self-paced online learning platform. Recordings of sessions by a roster of experts will be posted to the platform. Participants need to pass 12 module quizzes to receive a green ambassador certificate and display it in their social media.
