Green Ambassador Certificate Launch

  • The Addison Theatre Centre 15650 Addison Road Addison, TX, 75001 United States (map)

OEOC is going on a roadshow to drive a new Green Ambassador Certificate program, to address the need for environmental sustainability education in coordination with 4 cities - Addison, McKinney, Frisco, and Coppell. The format of delivery is hybrid with 12 modules delivered via in-person sessions including interactive exercises and/or a self-paced online learning platform. Recordings of sessions by a roster of experts will be posted to the platform. Participants need to pass 12 module quizzes to receive a green ambassador certificate and display it in their social media.

You can join events, e.g. litter cleanups, install/giveaway native trees/plants, growing seedlings in cowpots. Schools can establish OEOC or eco chapter/club and compete for annual awards based on # events/ # certificates across their district. Participants can also receive NJHS/ NHS hours and trainers can get professional development hours for their efforts. The platform/promo video will have logos of the cities and can be used for outreach by the city. Centennial High School in Frisco and Jasper High School in Plano are the first two schools to start eco clubs and be eligible for the program.
