OEOC funded and planted 462 shrubs, in partnership with the City of Plano, Texas Conservation Alliance, and the Social Innovation Club at John Paul II High School to turn a barren landscape into a pollinator garden. We attended student presentations based on their research on, “How we might increase awareness about the benefits of native plants?” They discovered that stores do not carry or know about native plants and designed a sign to help people learn about the native plants! Each student received a native plant as a thank-you gift! We are excited to partner with the next generation of conservationists.
